- MEGA Fuel Filter Kit for Duramax
Complete add on fuel filter kit specifically designed to fit under the hood on 2001 thru present Dmax equipped pickups. The 2006 and later trucks will need the stainless air box tray. The 2015+ will need some trimming in the area beneath the air box tray. This unit can be plumbed either before or after the OE unit, but I prefer after. This kit comes with all of the necessary hoses, fittings, and a two filter elements.

Description
Duramax MEGA Fuel Filter Kit
Improved fuel filtration for the Duramax Diesel is here!
Key Features:
- Simple installation and easily plumbed for use as a Primary or Secondary (preferred) filter.
- Top quality Baldwin filter with high efficiency media ensures maximum filtration in the critical 5 to 15 micron range and all the way down to <2 microns!>
- Large size and capacity allow for a very slow flow through the media giving the filter more time to do it's job!
- Integral post seal ensures that none of the microscopic filings generated when screwing on the filter enter the fuel.
- Built in drain to aid in servicing, and allow periodic sampling for water. This does NOT eliminate the need for a good emulsifying additive like FPPF Total Power.
- Built in “dirty side” bleeder ensures all air can be easily removed from filter.
- Electropolished stainless steel post nipple and anodized aluminum base ensures that no machining filings are free to release into fuel.
- Each kit comes with 2 elements so you have a spare if needed.
- Easy 30,000+ mile service life as a secondary, and 15,000+ service life as a primary Each kit comes with 2 elements so you have a spare if needed.
The Results:
Below are particle count samples showing the size and number of particles found in the fuel at the various test locations. For the after filter tests, I used the Fuel Filter Restriction Gauge which connects to a post filter sampling port on the engine. I basically removed the gauge head from the line and used the hand pump to push fuel out through the hose. Care was taken to flush the hose AND I triple rinsed the sample bottles. This test represents worst case scenario as I drove immediately to the shop after fueling truck. This means the fuel has only passed through the filtration once. During the course of operation, the fuel will recirculate and get progressively cleaner as you drive!.
